This term. How can anyone be "pro-ana"? It is like... "pro-schizo". Or "pro-epi". HOW. CAN. YOU. Support a mental illness? This is so weird.

Ugh, I KNOW. I got into a "discussion" with someone who was pro-ana once and tried to get them to explain. What it pretty much came down to was that they felt it wasn't a mental illness but a personal choice. She posted up all these rules on how to hide it from the people around you and when I asked her if she knew that a whole bunch of little girls (or boys) were probably going to follow her instructions, and her response was, "That's the point. Nothing wrong with it. It's THEIR choice."

And then when I asked her if she knew how many people, especially younger ones, died in a year because of eating disorders like the one's she's helping people hide from those who can help, she said that she's not responsible for those who overdo it and ignore their own safety.

I was ENRAGED. I've never written anything so wrathful in my entire life, I don't think.

People are so fucking stupid.

Did they miss the whole part about the body dymorphism? (fuck how do you spell that... spell check is not helping...)

Because a lot of these people already have disordered thinking. Perhaps not always to the point of full blown anorexia, but disordered thinking none the less. they want to portray it as a choice and something that is good for you because that makes them feel better about themselves.

Yep, I know. It was more of a rhetorical question.
