You're not alone. I don't get it either.

But usually it cheers me up if the characters in question are from one of my fandoms, so perhaps this is the point? When one sees (fictional) people they like doing happy things, it makes one a bit happier.

Sometimes it may also be hilarious, I suppose, especially if the scene is taken out of context.

I don't know. I haven't loved Wonder Woman like I do with her new storyline in years. It's like something Gaiman would do, if he did Wonder Woman. But instead of the Endless you have the Olympians. And out of all versions of Wonder Woman, I think this one would translate best for a show.

I kind of agree. Yes, I miss when Moffat wasn't the showrunner, but I still enjoy the series. This is apparently doing it wrong.

All too many people can't figure it out up until the very end of their lives, so you're most definitely not alone, and there's a lot ahead of you.

In fact, I'm not even sure if it's so important to know "who you are and what you want". These things are flexible, they change from one year to another.

Plus I'm quite sure that 25 is still pretty young in regard to emotional maturity.

In any case, these characters are awesome and associating yourself with them is awesome! Like, yes, it doesn't happen terribly often in real life, but I hope you find your IRL analogue of their catharses.

(if it's of any consolation, I'm positive that I'll never get as emotionally mature as most people around me seem to be. Doesn't really bother me, though)

...Of course OOC is easier to write. You have to worry less about paying attention to details of characterization.

That being said, I think pretty much all fanfic writers have gone through that sort of stage. Some of them do publish that stuff. So you can probably thank your past self that you didn't.

That's why I stopped. I only go to fandom for the fic. That's it. Fandom's made up of nothing but killjoy's. Especially nowadays when everyone always complains about and criticizes everything.

It's like, gosh, can't you just shut up and watching the freakin' show without picking it apart and turning it over?
