I liked him fine in season 4, I thought he was unfortunately bland but she was happy with him and that was good. I also really liked the Initiative storyline so there was another point in his favour! But then in season 5 I fucking haaaaaaaaated him, oh my lord. I figure he overstayed his welcome - in season 5 all kinds of shit was getting real, Dawn showed up which meant the team had to fight a god, Joyce got sick and then better and then THE BODY, Spike was starting to have feelings (and we all know how that story ended, but in its beginning I had incredible hopes because WHO DIDN'T love Spike's villain-->reluctant team member-->resident sasspot arc? HOW COULD WE NOT see him starting to have feelings for Buffy as a herald of beautiful awesomeness to come? sigh) WE JUST DO NOT HAVE TIME FOR YOU TO WHINE ABOUT HOW YOU ARE NOT THE SINGLE MOST IMPORTANT THING IN YOUR GIRLFRIEND'S LIFE, RILEY.
