I think internet reviewers are probably going to stick around indefinitely, and there's probably always going to be a handful that can make a living off ad revenue, but never the same people and never forever. No matter which way you spin it, you're relying on being part of whatever fad hits next. Put another way, you're counting on staying ahead of every whim of the internet. The "reviewing bad things by getting angry and snarky" fad is already well on its way out, in my opinion.

I'm going to be really annoyed if Linkara blames adblock when he inevitably has to quit, going out with a chip on his shoulder rather than recognizing the general declining interest in his kind of reviewing.

Doug had to go back to the Nostalgia Critic just to keep the site from having to close down. And it seems even with his old character back, the site is still dying.

I agree with the 'angry review rage' fad being over. It's not new or funny anymore, honestly. And I don't understand why he needs merchandise. You review comic books, why do you need t-shirts...?
