My main issue with not having McGann or Eccleston is because it looks like that is the time period they're going for with Hurt. And okay, even if you're going to give the bulk of the role to Hurt, we could still use a small bit with either 8 or 9.

Though I'd prefer 8 over Hurt, there is so much you could do with him considering outside of audios we only ever had one movie.

IIRC, Eccleston was approached but turned Moffat down, so that's not entirely their fault.

They could have still got McGann I'm sure though. He's still periodically doing Big Finish stuff, I'd think he'd be up for doing something onscreen given the chance!
