Re: Questions about alcohol

1 - there are a lot of sweet cocktails. White Russians are one of my favorites, and they are pretty sweet. Drinks that use things like Irish Cream, Kahlua, amaretto, chocolate liqueur, etc. are likely to be sweet, as are those that incorporate soft drinks like Coke. There are also malt beverages, wine coolers, hard lemonades and the like that are sweet - e.g. Smirnoff Ice.

2 - I don't actually know, but I'm not fond of it.

3 - I think really good vodka is not supposed to have any taste other than alcohol, so I don't know. It adds alcohol to mixed drinks without overpowering the other flavors. I think people like it because it has a high alcohol content and therefore can get you drunk really fast.

4 - both.

5 - "liquor" tends to refer to hard liquor, like vodka, whiskey, etc. This is as opposed to things like beer and wine that are carbonated.

6 - no.

7 - Some are, some aren't, I don't know about "most." You can add carbonated liquids to non-carbonated liquor to make a carbonated cocktail.

Or rather, wine isn't usually carbonated, but it is not liquor. Got distracted by the dog, there.
