Re: Any embarrassing/funny/interesting work stories?

(Anonymous) 2013-05-19 10:51 pm (UTC)(link)
I used to work in Ikea, okay? So one time this old Jewish woman came into the kitchen center and asked for cabinets. I asked all the proper questions like if she knew exactly what she wanted or if she had a certain look/color in mind, as well as information about sizes and so on, and she...

...well, she tried to explain it, I think, but her English was rusty so she pulled out a pad and a pen and drew a rectangle and kept on saying, "A cabinet! Like this!"

I kept on trying to explain that I needed more information but she kept on shoving the pad at me and insisting that all I needed to know was in that rectangle.

She stormed off in a huff after she told me she was going to contact a manager, and the moment she left my coworker and I just busted out laughing.

It was that or cry.

Fucking customer service.
