While I like RDJ just fine and hope he'll be in Avengers 2, I'm more saddened that Jeremy Renner might be recast. I don't care if they move Hawkeye to the TV series (I'd love that, actually), but don't recast my bb. :'(

I'm torn. I ship Clint/Coulson, so Hawkeye in the TV show would be great, but I like Renner as Hawkeye and obviously he wouldn't be on the TV show.

I heard that if he is recast, the character will go to the TV series. We wouldn't a new Hawkeye in the movie.

These are my thoughts exactly.

That said, given a choice, I'd take Renner-Hawkeye in just the movies over NewGuy-Hawkeye in the series. I just...Renner. Y'know. He's perfect.

Yeah, honestly I have to agree -- out of all the Avengers he's had the smallest presence in the MCU. In Thor, Hawkeye had 10 seconds of screentime, and in Avengers he was brainwashed for most of the movie. Most non-comics people I know had no clue who he was all throughout that film and probably wouldn't notice if they cast a different dude for the sequel. Objectively he's the most replaceable of any of them.

I mean I guess you could say Bruce Banner is, because he's already been recast twice, but I imagine they're not keen to do that again, and he made a really good impression in Avengers for the most part -- "they finally got Banner right" and all that.

I'm hoping that they'll put Renner!Hawkeye into the TV show and that they'll let him act there. :(

That said, I'll be happy if he just doesn't do another Bourne movie. BB, I love you, but the only good thing about that movie was that you got rid of the beard halfway through.

There's no way in hell Renner would agree to be on the TV show. Regardless of how you feel about how he portrayed Hawkeye, the guy's busy with other movies.

In all seriousness, I do hope Marvel keeps him, but I hope they'll keep all the Avengers, honestly. While I can understand objectively that Renner would be the easiest to recast, I don't think that means Marvel should recast him. He really got shafted in the Avengers movie (while I understand it was likely so he could focus on Bourne Legacy or even Witch Hunters, it's still a pretty crappy situation), and I hope that we get to see a lot more of Hawkeye - and what Renner could bring to Hawkeye - in future movies. :)

Renner won't be recast. Word of God says nay on that one, at least for the moment.
