Yeah, honestly I have to agree -- out of all the Avengers he's had the smallest presence in the MCU. In Thor, Hawkeye had 10 seconds of screentime, and in Avengers he was brainwashed for most of the movie. Most non-comics people I know had no clue who he was all throughout that film and probably wouldn't notice if they cast a different dude for the sequel. Objectively he's the most replaceable of any of them.

I mean I guess you could say Bruce Banner is, because he's already been recast twice, but I imagine they're not keen to do that again, and he made a really good impression in Avengers for the most part -- "they finally got Banner right" and all that.
