Out of curiosity, how does everyone hear "ASOIAF"? I hear it as "uh soy off".

Kind of "ay soph". I know I'm ignoring some sounds but that's the way my brain reads/hears it.

"as off" tbh. I have a terrible habit of deleting/rearranging acronyms.

I hear it somewhat like you if I bother with it, but mostly my brain just picks up "ah soy-" and then jumps to the next word. ASOIAF has got to be one of the most terrible acronyms I've ever come across.

I think it's less that I'm trying to pronounce it and more that my brain is simply going, "Nope, too long," and skips a couple letters in the middle there.

Never really thought about it before now, but it's something like "ah so ee aff".
