Could she have passed on the magic genetically?

I guess she could. Her mom passed it to her by digesting the flower. So, I am guessing the magic could be passed to Rapunzel's child like it was passed to her.

...wow, I really need to see that movie again. I completely forgot that's how the whole thing started...

(Now I kind of want to see a fic where Rapunzel's kid(s) are born with the magic hair, and she cuts it when it gets long enough to look all right, starting a royal tradition of keeping your hair short (either for everybody, just the women, or just the children, depending on which way the author wanted to take it and how the genetics would work there (attached to X chromosome? I'm overthinking this.).)
