Any of you drop a fandom or stop watching a currently-airing show in the past couple of months? Why did you do it? Lack of interest, too busy, moving on to other things, ragequitting over stupid developments...?

I quit watching Supernatural sometime around Felicia Day's second appearance. I just.don't.care anymore. The show has drifted so far from the kickass spooky monster hunting show I used to love. I still love the first few seasons, the characters in general, but I'm done with new stuff.

Agreed so much. I periodically rewatch the first three seasons, and then I pretend the rest doesn't exist. :)

Teen Wolf. Both the fandom and the series, actually. I got halfway into s2 and then quit. Quit the fandom shortly after.

It just got... boring, I guess. Plus, the characters were really starting to annoy me.

As for the fandom... well, I felt as if I was reading the same thing over and over. Outside of fanfiction, the fans are all pretty batshit so it made participating in discussions less than ideal.

Back to the fic. As much as I love Sterek it's in no way my OTP, and the lack of any other pairing was upsetting. Seriously, it's kind of ridiculous that every other pairing in the fandom is considered an honest to gosh RARE PAIR.

I stopped watching The Following a couple episodes before the finale. Er, I actually didn't mean to; I had too many shows set up to DVR on the day it aired so I tried DVR'ing a rerun later in the week. I got some local music show instead. I was already weeks behind and pretty damn uninterested so I just said fuck it and didn't bother catching up.

Ugh. Me too. I have two episodes left to watch on my DVR and I really can't summon enough to care and watch them. It got so boring and I stopped caring about the characters.

You didn't miss much. I watched til the end because I wanted to give it a chance to round out the plot, but for a show about serial killers The Following is pretty boring.

It disappoints me because the show has great acting talent and the previews made it look like something I'd love, but I just got bored.

More than a couple months, but Doctor Who. I'm not mad about the show, or too busy, or anything like that. It just stopped being interesting, so I figured it was a good point to drop off until I hear something maybe interesting happens.

Can't think of anything other than things that aren't currently airing.

Somehow the Christmas special didn't sit right, and since then my interest has completely fizzled.

Supernatural. I stopped halfway into s6 because... well, I guess I just didn't like the direction the series was going. Plus, s6 was just so boring... and the whole soulless!Sam thing didn't interest me at all.

I'm considering getting back into it, though.

As for the fandom... I don't know. On one hand, maybe it's because the spark died out. I was so obsessed and read so many fics all in one shot...I'm kind of amazed at myself, really. Let's put it this way: I was only in the fandom for a year and my "SPN: HAVE READ" folder lists over 450 fics, most of which are long in length (not including stories belonging to series, either).

On the other hand, after a while I started to feel as if I wasn't reading anything original. I even started to read pairings that I otherwise wouldn't (like Jo/John, which I fell in LOVE with), but nope.

Season 6 is my least favorite of Supernatural, I'd consider picking up at season 7 because things started turning around then and I really liked season 8.

The season 8 finale was really good too.

Recently, Bones and The Big Bang Theory. Bones because Brennan's character had pissed me off for a long time and I'd finally had enough, and TBBT because...well, let's just say it was becoming more and more obvious that it was a Chuck Lorre show.

Supernatural: I finally had enough after giving it way too many chances and just accepted that it would never be the same that it was during the first three seasons (or even during seasons 4-5) and I stopped watching it. I had quit following the fandom way before that.

Teen Wolf: I watched the whole show through for a second time and realized that I don't really like it that much. Can't stand most of the main characters, not to mention the acting or lack thereof, noticed all the plot holes that I missed on the first time, etc. etc. And since I have no interest in 99% of the fandom, I'm just waiting for a few WIP fics to finish till I quit completely.

I stopped watching CSI and Criminal Minds due to lack of interest.

Bones about 8 months ago because it was becoming both bad and offensive to me.

We tried dipping back into Tudors last month and gave up because we ended up right into a bit of cinematic puppy-kicking that wasn't our thing.

I was never in the fandom but I stopped watching OUaT a couple months ago... it just got too dull, with so many characters that I didn't care about :\ what a wasted opportunity that show is.

Despite the other thread I'm in here, I dropped Attack on Titan after one episode because it was too ANIME for me. It just seems like something that was a video game concept but the creators decided to do a manga (and subsequent anime) instead. The weird complicated weapon systems put me off, it's like... WHY

Season 4 is so OOC.

Elementary. Quickly turned into a boring generic crime show.

I'm thinking of dropping Hawaii 50, Criminal Minds and Person of Interest, just because I'm not enjoying them really, and I don't care about the fandoms either. Criminal Minds will be hard because I've watched it up to this point so it's like a habit and an emotional investment :( The same with Supernatural, which I've tried to drop twice, but keep on coming back to. Why can't I just quit you, SPN?

I dropped three recently after sort of switching between them for a year or so - The Hobbit, One Direction and ASOIAF. It feels like I've been in fandom for so long that I get really easily burnt out by certain attitudes so basically as soon as I found my new fandom I abandoned those three entirely. I don't even miss them. I don't think this new one will last that long either, unfortunately.

I drop fandoms all the time. I get super into something, read everything there is to read, fanfic, meta, everything, write a few fics, and then after a few months something else shiny distracts me and I end up moving on. After that, I tend to only read fics occasionally in that fandom from authors I know I like and never search anything out.

Harry Potter was my first and longest fandom. Since then I've been obsessed with and then almost totally dropped Dragon Age, Inception, Sherlock, X-men First Class, Avengers, Mass Effect... currently I'm obsessed with Supernatural and ASOIAF but I'm sure these too will pass.

Also, my 'fandom' interests don't necessarily coincide with my actual entertainment-consuming. I watch loads of Doctor Who but have read very little fanfic, for example, and don't really consider myself a part of the Doctor Who 'fandom' as such. Same with Once Upon a Time. I still play Mass Effect even though I don't really read any ME fics currently, etc.

I essentially dropped Person of Interest because of lack of time recently, although I've watched a few episodes here and there, but I never considered myself part of POI fandom either.

I've become really disillusioned about Supernatural, Doctor Who, and Sherlock all at once. I'm kinda bummed, but mostly apathetic.

I'm staying up to date on Spn, though, because I'm invested in Sam. But that's it, sadly.
