(Anonymous) 2013-05-23 12:02 am (UTC)(link)There's absolutely people out there who are going to be willing to put their stuff out there, and there's absolutely going to be people who are willing to pay for it, especially amongst people whose experience with fanfic has heretofore been marginal or nonexistent. Especially now that it has the imprimatur of the content producers, I think it's absolutely going to succeed, and I think most of the people involved - people who aren't old fandom hands - aren't going to care about the negative elements of the deal and are just going to be gung-ho about it.
And I hate it and it just sucks - it's taking something spontaneous (and admittedly sometimes sucky) and regulating it and bringing it under control and expecting people to like that they're doing that. And it's going to happen. Ugh.
