This has started happening to me more often. I don't have adblock for reasons but it's making me consider it, gdi ):

pretty sure you can whitelist sites (like freerice) on adblock so ads show up

Some form of AdBlock should be mandatory for most browsers. It's the first thing I get/look for whenever I get a new browser. DNW surprise viruses or malware whenever I surf the web.

Adblock has always been a no-brainer for me, but I also have very low patience. What are your for reasons? Is there some nastiness I should be aware of?

Oh no, nothing like that. I just have a weird guilt complex about blocking ads. I've never actually gotten a concrete answer on how much they affect the revenue of sites, so I don't block them.
