Do the first, smallest thing, that you can possibly do RIGHT AWAY. Don't plan out the whole thing elaborately in your head, or you'll never get started --- though it helps to have a general idea of the whole thing --- just pick the first, smallest bit of whatever it is you need to get done, then DO IT. Don't obsess over time (either too early or too late), just do it. Don't set deadlines, because if you have to set a deadline, the task is too big. Whatever is the absolute minimal effort you can do, to get a start on the project, do it.

After you're done, re-assess where you are, and pick the NEXT smallest thing you can do, and do that.

Then do it again.

Rinse, lather, repeat.
