Yes, yes, yes, all of this.

I totally agree with all of this. Thank you for putting it so well. Both about Sherlock Holmes in particular and about television in general. serialized television can be great and wonderful and entertaining. Not everything has to have an overarching plot, and in some cases it's actively detrimental. Like with Sherlock Holmes.
