totally agreed on his voice though. by far the best in big bang, and one of the best in kpop as a whole.

I always found Daesung to be handsome/shrugs. I guess it's just because he's not your typical 'pretty boy'. He's funny, sweet, a great singer, and not a try-hard. Best Big Bang member.

He's good looking... I don't know, I don't necessarily trust the Kpop fandom as a general whole as a marker of attractiveness, given how many people talk about Hyoyeon from SNSD being "ugly."

Same. I don't even care about SNSD and when I hear that, all I can think is "You're all idiots."

So...what's up with those two in the middle right? They're awfully cuddly and adorable. Do fangirls love them together, so they're playing it up, or are they just naturally that way, or a little both? I can never tell with Asian music groups.

the most commonly shipped OTP of the group is actually the two in the sunglasses. i'm not in the fandom as much as i used to be, so i'm not sure the general response to seunghyun/taeyang (the ones you're talking about).

I actually love all of BB except Seungri. He annoys me, and I think BB can completely do without him.

I don't get why people hate Daesung either, OP. =( He's so adorable and has such a beautiful voice. But you know Kpop fandom...they call everyone ugly except the member/idol with the least personality.

Honestly, I think he's only "ugly" from a Korean standpoint. I'm not in the fandom but I don't think I've ever seen anyone else call him ugly? I think he's a bit like CL from 2NE1 in that regard.

That guy's considered "the ugly one"? He's the only attractive one in the group, IMO.

I still keep up with Big Bang just for Daesung. He has his own cute charms.

Not a fan of BB but I like Taeyang's voice to be honest.

I love Taeyang's voice. I can take or leave BB and even though Solar was lacking in a lot of ways, it is one of my go-to background albums because his voice is so... pleasant.

My bias is GD, but I agree with you that he is sorely overrated (as is TOP. And Taeyang, to an extent), and that Dae is even more sorely underrated. (Try Smiling and Baby Don't Cry are in my top ten Korean songs list.)

I like BB but I'm not in the fandom so I don't know the trends but... Didn't Daesung have some acne issues for a time? I seem to recall him struggling with his skin -- I mean, unfair to hate him for it, but maybe that was the reason for saying he was ugly?

However, he struck me as the sweetie of the group -- the one who kept everyone's spirits up, etc. So I hate to hear he got hated on. Like kicking a puppy.

However, however -- when it comes to rapping (and TOP and GD are more rappers than singers, right?) damn but TOP has a mighty fine man voice. And GD has a mighty fine smart-ass voice. Neither can hold a candle to Daesung's voice when it comes to singing but if you're a rap fan? Yeah, I can see why they're the ones people go on about.

Not in the BB fandom, but Daesung has always been my favourite, because he can sing, yes, but also because he reminds me of Junno from KT who is also my fave. >.>;;

The problem I have with Dae fans is that it's always like this.

They want to show his merit, but the only way they ever do it is by being cruel and hateful towards the others? Gross.
They all have their talents, he is the best singer, but GD and TOP have a charismatic appeal that he lacks.
