ayrt My friend isn't a shipper, she'd be more into deconstructing characters and motivations and general squee over loving everyone.

But I've seen my share of super loud and annoying Trobed shippers. I think the loud and annoying inhabits all corners of fandom, it's really just a matter of fine tuning who you follow and how much you immerse yourself in the fandom.

Yeah I guess. Community fandom is tiny and tumblr based so if you don't choose to follow or interact with anyone you feel is annoying you pretty much get the best fandom experience ever. Idk I have a very soft spot for the community that I'm a part of.

If your friend wants only gen though, yeah they're gonna be hard pressed to find a space they like in fandom because pretty much all the completely gen places suck and are either full of annoying little shits or are nearly dead.

community_tv used to be great for deconstruction and general squee, but it's become really quiet lately. :/ Which is sad because like your friend, that's essentially all I care about.

There's a lot of activity on our anon meme but also lots of shipping wank mingled in, so it's a mixed bag but for gen discussion besides tumblr it's probably the place to go. It really is sad though that the main comm died.
