It's basically the unoffical OTP shipper's anthem. But what OP is saying is that they can't watch a show/movie without ending up shipping the characters, I guess.

Wow, Dido. It's been years since I've listened to her and now I feel like finding my CD's. (LOL, yup, CD's. I don't think I ever even ripped them to my computer...)

Anyway, I don't see the harm in shipping but there's nothing wrong with focusing on other things (or wanting to).

In my experience, once you start shipping it's hard to stop. You see pairings without even wanting to.

I feel ya, OP.

Lately it seems like I can't even get interested in a show unless it has characters with my kind of shipping dynamics. Also, since that never becomes canon, it means going in already knowing that a)I will end up shipping and b)I'm going to have to do all the work in my own head because it's never happening on screen.

Kinda gets a bit exhausting and masochistic, doesn't it?

I understand the feeling OP, like I really enjoy shipping but man does do I have to do it all the damn time when I watch something? It's one of the reasons why Elementary has a big place in my heart because I don't ship anything in it at all. It's a wonderful change.

I know how you feel. I'll start watching something hoping to not ship or at least ship lightly, then I just fall right into it. It helps that most of my OTP's are popular, but that sort of makes it worse because I see people with valid complaints and arguments against them, but I can't bring myself to get annoyed.
