Yeah, this is why I don't mind (canon) fictional smoking - the visual of it is...interesting. Not sure how else to describe it. I don't find it sexy or anything, it's just interesting, especially on the right character. (I have a bit of an oral fixation, so I guess this makes sense? xD)

But I can't stand it IRL - it gets to me pretty quick and if I'm around it too long, it makes me feel sick. And the visual is less interesting and more just...eugh. IDK :/

This. I don't smoke, am allergic to smoke, and would never date a smoker.

But boy howdy, do I like drawing characters with a cig in their hand. Cigarette smoke is like a present handed to artists everywhere. "Here, add some mystery and a smidge of art nouveau!"

different anon here. It looks sexy in certain poses and with good lighting etc, like in your icon. But then you get within 10 feet of them, smell their breath, inhale the nasty smoke, and it loses a lot of the glamour. I've kissed a lot of smokers and I've never experienced the "kissing an ash tray" thing, but their clothes almost always stunk.

So basically I only think it looks sexy in photoshoots. But then you could make basically anything look sexy...

I hate tobacco, but I've always sworn that when I'm rich and eccentric enough to get away with it I'll carry an empty cigarette holder, just because something about gesturing with a cigarette gets me in the squee button.
