I'm not entirely sure how to respond, but...While I can understand making fake ids [even if I think it would have been a lot simpler and easier to just say 'Sorry, not comfortable sharing that!'], faking the death of one was pretty shitty. From what you said, it sounds like at least one person went through pain because they thought a friend had died which isn't a cool thing to put people though and it sounds like you've figured that out. So...just try to take this as a [really painful] learning experience and move on?

tl;dr: Yes, you did something that was pretty sucky, but it might be best to just learn from it and move on
