Yeah, as long as they're not actually tracing it does take a lot of skill to draw accurately from references. Which is something a lot of whiny brats of tumblr don't seem to get.

Yeah, there are some artists who get so much flak because people think they're tracing. They've done livestreams, how much proof do you need, jfc.

I know right. I just smdh when it's even artists raging at other artists over supposed tracing. I can't help thinking there's some jealousy going on.

Exactly, it's a way of learning and training yourself. It's not a big issue as long as they don't claim it's unreferenced when it was.

They're no shame in referencing.

Equally, there's no shame in tracing if it's being used as a learning device. As long as they don't try to claim it as original.

Good point. Which is why it's so galling when I see people hassling artists who even state that they used references. It's just so ?? Do these people just want to bully for any reason?
