Unlike, you know, Nicolas Cage.

I actually didn't realize it was Sherlock guy in Star Trek last week until halfway through the movie, and I didn't realize the guy who played Han Solo was also in Indiana Jones (I couldn't actually watch the entire movie because it was so ridiculous, so that might have been it) until my friend pointed it out. But I can't seem to see Nicolas Cage's roles as their own characters; I only ever see him.

I agree about Nicolas Cage; I also feel that way about Bruce Willis.

I'm seriously going to have to see Star Trek just to see Cumberbatch in it now, because multiple people on F!S have made a point of how different he looks in it. To me, he looks like the same unmistakable lizard person caught mid-transformation. This must be some serious sorcery I won't understand unless I watch it in action.

But yeah, I have terrible facial recognition skills. Took me half the movie to get that it was Tobey Maguire playing Nick in the Gatsby movie, and it was only when he started sounding like Peter Parker that I really noticed it.

I had a similar reaction to Winona Ryder playing Spock's mother. I spent the whole movie with her face pinging something in me, but didn't connect it until I was at home, looking at the wikipedia page for the movie.
