I'm not sure how to feel about this. On the one hand, well, I've had someone in my fandom commit pseudicide just to get attention, and that was after a whole lot of people (apparently) invested a lot of time and concern, and sometimes money, into "helping" them out of various (fake)IRL problems. Those people were hurt and shocked when the person "died", but that person also had a Munchausen's Syndrome thing going on, where they would use their "real" identity and their various sockpuppets to create sympathy in the fandom. And this person was a blatantly attention-seeking adult. It sounds like you were relatively young.

Yeah, I agree that what you did was awful. But you seem to have learned your lesson, and you don't have any kind of ulterior motive other than hiding your RL identity and not wanting to get close to people on the internet. Which is fine, but it sounds like you got sucked in deeper and deeper. Next time, as someone else suggested, just say, "Sorry, I'm not comfortable sharing personal info" and leave it at that.
