F!S Anon Meme (the ??th)

Secrets, rants, opinions, anything you want to say about your fandom or a fandom or fandom in general, do it here! Anonymously, of course. Get it all off your chest.

Some ground rules:
1. Going anon is encouraged but not absolutely required (for those who struggle with recaptchas and stuff).
2. No autoplaying/autolooping embeds, or embeds that cover/stretch the screen.
3. No dropping personal info or IRL contact info, etc.

That's about it, though!

(Today's post is below.)

What Kid’s Books Do You Read?

Nostalgia has me reading every new Dear America book, and I usually pick up the Newbery winner (I just finished Splendors and Glooms, a Newbery Honor book). I also follow whatever Lemony Snicket is up to.

So F!S, not counting books from your childhood that you still reread now, what children’s books do you read?

Anything from L'École des Loisirs. Was a good publisher when I was a kid, keeps getting good stuff year after year. (It's the one who translates and publishs Judy Blume's books in France, by the way.)

The Dear Dumb Diary series, because it's hilarious.

I've also been trying to read all the Goosebumps books. I thought I'd already read all of them when I was a kid, but according to Wikipedia there were quite a few that I missed.

None that I can think of, but I keep meaning to read Anne of Green Gables.

Based on one of the secrets posted here recently, I just read The Blue Castle. I've reread the Anne & Emily books so many times, it was nice to visit some different characters in the same universe.

Sven Nordqvist. He's PERFECT.

UPD: Um right. I just grossly misspelt everything in his name due to thinking about another person.

Oh, loads. Every now and then when I feel like reading something light I'll read old books from series I liked as a kid:

The Baby-Sitters' Club (I mostly liked the mysteries, so those are the ones I still have)

Fear Street and similar teenage horror/mystery books

Pony Pals - these are really embarrassing because they are for really little kids. If I hadn't read them so often as a kid, they wouldn't hold my interest at all because they are so "young" and the writing probably isn't great, but since I did and clearly envisioned the setting so many times, it's more like going to a place I've been before, and I don't really notice the writing and whatnot.

I reread a bunch of Animorphs books a few years ago (around 2010) and really noticed how 90s they were this time around...

I spent most of last summer reading Pretty Little Liars, but that's more YA. It was fluffy/light reading but not romance-centered, which I think is what I liked about it.

Oh, oops. I missed the "not counting books from your childhood that you still reread." Sorry!

Young Wizards! Or, I should be reading it, anyway, I've got most of the collection, but I been distracted since the third one; but it's really good. The complexity of the magical system makes the geek in me squeal with joy, and the ethical dilemmas the kids face are really interesting.

I've been reading The Unicorn Chronicles and they're pretty fantastic, tbh.
