[ FS Anon Meme ]

F!S Anon Meme (the ??th)

Secrets, rants, opinions, anything you want to say about your fandom or a fandom or fandom in general, do it here! Anonymously, of course. Get it all off your chest.

Some ground rules:
1. Going anon is encouraged but not absolutely required (for those who struggle with recaptchas and stuff).
2. No autoplaying/autolooping embeds, or embeds that cover/stretch the screen.
3. No dropping personal info or IRL contact info, etc.

That's about it, though!

(Today's post is below.)

using the anon meme to rant, don't mind me

One of my friends refuses to watch Elementary because she thinks it's stupid, and she can figure out all the plot twists. But.

She's never watched any of it.

She claims she can figure out all the plot twists because someone (who's already watched the episode!) tells her about it each week, and I jsut want to shake her and point out that

1. someone who's already watched the episode & knows the answer is going to have biases, conscious or unconscious

2. you don't get to say the show sucks when you've literally not watched a single episode

3. you are not as clever as you think you are when you're basing your opinion off of someone who already knows the answer telling you the episode instead of watching it yourself

like, if she actually watched the episodes, and didn't like them, whatever, but she hasn't.

Wow judging.

People who haven't seen the canon can't judge the canon.

I think Elementary's plots can be a little simple and obvious. But your friend is a moron for judging the show's worth based just on that. It's the characters and the relationships that make the show and they are simply wonderful. And besides, the obviousness of the weekly plots doesn't mean the episodes can't be enjoyable.

Screw her, is my advice. She's obviously prejudiced against the show and would only look for reasons to tear it apart, if she did give it a try. She couldn't even get the full enjoyment out of criticizing the plot twists if she watched it now, because she was already told all about them and couldn't possibly claim she saw them coming on her own.

Your friend is... special. I hope for your sake that she has many other redeeming qualities that make up for the irritating, know-it-all ones.
