I usually find it attention-seeking, but for some reason, only from non-anons with icons. Non-anons without an icon (like you) still register to me as "anon" in a sense. I've no idea why.

i know what you mean; it's easier to remember a logged-in user by their icon

and somehow it's harder to notice the username without an icon vov
