Someone just rang my doorbell. It's past midnight here and I'm not expecting anyone, and I'm a bit freaked out. And instead of pulling up my big girl pants and just answering the intercom, I just ignored it. I can't actually see the front door of the block from my flat so I'll probably never know who it was or what they wanted. But now I'm completely paranoid that it was a) vitally important, or b) someone trying to check if the flat was empty before burgling me. I feel so stupid. It was probably a lost pizza delivery guy or something right?

Nothing wrong with ignoring it. If they're lost, they can go to a gas station or something; bothering someone past midnight--even with good intentions--is rude as fuck. I'm in a similar situation a lot (I live at the corner of two major streets) and nothing bad has ever come from ignoring it.

Thanks for the comment. Rationally, I know it was probably just a mistake and I shouldn't worry, but the imagination works overtime, you know? There are many ways in which I love living on my own, but sometimes I really hate it too.

I wouldn't answer either nonnie. I hardly ever answer the door in the daytime because it's usually somebody trying to sell me something or to get me to switch energy suppliers.

And that is also why 'ding dong ditch' doesn't work on me :D
