Secrets, rants, opinions, anything you want to say about your fandom or a fandom or fandom in general, do it here! Anonymously, of course. Get it all off your chest.

Some ground rules:
1. Going anon is encouraged but not absolutely required (for those who struggle with recaptchas and stuff).
2. No autoplaying/autolooping embeds, or embeds that cover/stretch the screen.
3. No dropping personal info or IRL contact info, etc.

It's a lot easier to pretend to be Normal and Not Weird Shit when pretty much nobody gets to know you beyond a couple of reblogs. Especially when you can cover your actual personality completely with animated gifs and WHAT IS AIR.

I think that's exactly why I don't like it. I never get to know anyone. Discussions never seem to go beyond ALL CAPS and gifs.

Yeah, it's really not designed for anything else. But if it was, I'd probably be excluded or all real discussion would get sidelined by LOL YOU SUCK. At least this way I get to share something with other people, even if it's incredibly superficial.

No doubt it's frustrating as hell if you're used to better. I'm just... Not.

I only interact with people I knew pre-Tumblr so maybe I'm not the best judge, but conversations and discussions are actually possible and fairly easy. It's difficult to keep them private unless you're using messaging (which sucks because THERE'S NO SENT MESSAGE FOLDER) but they're still possible.

Also, those "send me an question/ask from this list I just posted" is a good way to get to know people, if you really want. It takes more time, but this is also doable.

Oh, god, this.

I've been using tumblr for about 6 months and I still don't get how can you have a conversation -decent or not- through just reblogs. I added the disqus widget to it, but no one uses it, altough they write notes to my posts, and I can't figure out how to answer notes and in general, it has become a quite frustrating experience.

Try the Xkit add on, it had an in build IM system and allows you to reply to notes. :)
