Fandom Trends
I know that a month ago there was an odd trend in several of my fandoms of Fawn/Satyr AUs. I have no idea why (maybe Spring made everyone feel closer to nature), but it was odd.
What are some trends you have seen in your fandoms (past or present) that were either interesting or weird?

(Anonymous) 2013-05-26 08:30 pm (UTC)(link)There has been a very short trend of Cyborg!Q and Android!Q in the 00Q fandom, and the ones I read were interesting.
Re: Fandom Trends
Dark and Angsty. Yeah those seem to happen cyclically in fandoms. SPN had a lot.

Re: Fandom Trends
I mean I'm not complaining, I started out on the "wtf is this" side and now I write it, but it IS weirdly pervasive.
I sometimes wonder about those people who write ~educational~ articles about fanfiction for magazines, if they ever actually go to AO3 and come across trends like self-lubricating assholes and just go "what the actual fuck" and then decide to leave that out of their report.

(Anonymous) 2013-05-27 03:45 am (UTC)(link)I'm sure it's great for people who like that kind of stuff, but if you don't, it's annoying.
