The other thing it tends to indicate is a likelihood of homosexuality. A gay friend was telling me about this study and his own fascination with men's hands as indicators.

Well, if one single study says it and has never been duplicated (not to mention reproduced in a wider statistical way), it simply MUST be the absolute truth.
