I'm not going to get into the whole "fake geek girl" debate because I think the whole this is stupid and complex and fuck I am not doing it today.

Thing is though, I do want to give you advice on how to deal with the assholes there. I would advise not walking alone in that outfit because for some fucking reason a lot of people believe costume equals consent and there may be people who try to grope you/sexually harass you. I would also advise getting a butt guard and yes, it is exactly what it sounds like. People are going to try to take pictures of your butt without asking you first. So having a person walk behind you or using their bag to shield you is a good idea. In general, it's also nice to have a friend or two available to help stop unwanted advances or to just help you get out of situations.

I don't want to scare you off or anything and I know that sounds horrible and stupid after all I just said but, yeah. Conventions are fantastic places where you can have a great load of fun. They are also places where I have seen and experienced a lot of stuff that would not fly elsewhere. So... yeah. Good luck.

A women's only con wouldn't completely get rid of this behaviour though. There are also plenty of women who cross all boundaries when it comes to cosplayers' bodies. (Remember that secret from yesterday, about the behaviour of yaoi fangirls at a con? Sadly not exactly uncommonly heard of behaviour)

Forget about neckbeard permission. Would it be financially viable? Bear in mind con's run on money. And a lot of people go there to make it. You've immediately cut off a huge-ass chunk of the potential audience. Also, you've just broken up many couples that might otherwise come, and sometimes that then becomes a thing.

So it'd take a lot of convincing a lot of different people that such a con should be done. I mean, there's some minicons out there, sure. But you've limited the size and scope by a lot.

Also, while it'd lessen the problems, don't think make it all girls would solve everything either. Glompers have proven for years that "cosplay doesn't equal consent" isn't just something the men need to learn.
