Once, I googled myself and found my phone number, address, the last few places of employment, and the same for my parents online. Never, ever google yourself or your loved ones. No matter how famous you are or aren't, you're going to be creeped out.

Why is it necessarily creepy? I have a very unique name and I don't know how my phone number and address (or that of my parents) would end up online. Right now it's just a linkedin profile and some school shit. Actually I'm wondering how that happened to you? I'd like to avoid it!

It was mostly because there were also pictures of me, including one I didn't remember seeing before (it turns out it was taken during a friend's graduation, and she put it on facebook), as well as pictures of my parents. There wasn't a picture of my little brother, thank goodness, but it did include where he went to school. I don't remember the website, just something-pages, but it was creepy because at the time, both my brother and I were minors (although with a fairly large age gap).

Despite having a weird name, I apparently share it with somebody who's quite a bit better known than I am. Googling myself is a relief, since I am never the person who comes up.
