Give me a recommendation

I've only heard like 2 songs by TMBG, but I hear so much about them that I want to buy some of their music. What songs/CDs would you guys recommend?

my introduction to TMBG was with 'Ana Ng', 'I'm Impressed', 'Don't Let's Start', 'Birdhouse in Your Soul' and 'We're the Mesopotamians'... I then bought their 'best of' album which is called 'A User's Guide to They Might Be Giants', which was a fantastic way to get into their music as it's a back catalogue which has lots of different songs from different albums.
their album from a couple of years ago, Join Us, was absolutely fab, too. (my favourites on that album: 'Can't Keep Johnny Down', 'Never Knew Love', 'Canajoharie', 'You Probably Get That a Lot')
If you want to check them out their youtube channel, ParticleMen, has pretty much every song they've ever released?
(sorry for wittering. I just love TMBG a lot...)

The two really, really popular albums of theirs (as much as anything of theirs has ever been popular) were Apollo 18 and Flood - both very good albums, and probably anything you've heard came from Flood ("Particle Man", "Istanbul", "Birdhouse In Your Soul"). My personal favorite is Lincoln, though it's a little more offbeat than the above two, likewise The Spine, and their latest album, Nanobots, is growing on me really fast ("Call You Mom" in particular just about killed me the first time I heard it).

But Apollo 18 and/or Flood are probably the best introduction to the group; I've known many people who discovered them through one or the other, me among them. I heard one song on local college radio and loved it, then heard it again when my art teacher played Apollo 18 during class, and loved the rest of the album just as much.

Yeah, pretty much this. Listen to Flood, Lincoln, or Apollo 18 (probably in roughly that order).

Definitely avoid their most recent albums. They've turned into an ouroborus, except the snake's head is up its own ass.
