I was just about to make a secret about Medusa being criminally underrated as a Disney villain, and overall I agree that The Rescuers is waaaaay underrated.

I've watched it just this weekend, and it is pretty good, The one thing I've noticed is that I have a much better appreciation of the songs than I did when I watched it as a kid. (-:

I actually went to some trouble to track The Rescuers down on video after reading the big picture book of it. I really enjoyed it.

In hindsight, this was another sign of me kind of having a Thing about characters being held prisoner. No matter how innocuous the circumstances. :facepalm:

That movie is devastating. And Medusa is one hell of a villain.

Agreed. I like the sequel better, but I still love the original a whole bunch. It doesn't deserve its lack of recognition.

I've honestly always loved the sequel more, but that might just be because I'm Australian and it's the only 2D Disney movie set anywhere near Australia. (Finding Nemo is similar because LOOK SYDNEY THAT'S MY HOUSE)

It really helps that the sequel is gorgeous looking and is quite well written too. The original is pretty good, though. They both deserve more love.

RDU was my favorite movie as a kid. My mom made me little eagle wings because I basically spent all day pretending to be Marahute. (occasionally I would switch it up to be Peter Pan)

I loved The Rescuers Down Under as a kid and somehow never realized that it was a sequel to something else. I'll have to track this down.

I'm not sure if I've ever seen the whole thing through (I remember getting sick and having to go home partway through when it was in theaters) but "Someone's Waiting For You" is really a lovely song.
