Some shows manage to hang on for years sometimes even after they've overstayed their welcome. Others are not so lucky. What are some of the shows you've enjoyed that only lasted one season or even only a few episodes before getting the boot?

I enjoyed Common Law :(

I'll 2nd The Middleman. It was such a pleasant surprise.

Terriers. (Not sure I've ever found a show that consistently great before, but the ratings were pathetic. It wasn't fair.)

...Other than that, Common Law. Forever bitter about no more Travis/Wes.

I loved Friends with Benefits, and I wish it had gone on long enough to justify a DVD. :(

Firefly and Mission Hill. :D

American Gothic, Earth 2 and Space: Above and Beyond. There were some that lasted only 6 or 13 episodes, but I can't remember their names.

Dracula: The Series. Yeah, it was cheesy as hell, but it was great. And Dracula was hot. Also, one of the vampire characters was played by Geraint Wyn Davies, who want on to play Nick Knight on Forever Knight.

I think Moonlight was only one season too. Such a shame.

Figuring I should answer my own questions:

Pan Am: It wasn't a perfect show by any means but I ended up falling in love with just about every character.

The US version of Free Agents was gone after like four episodes. I was happy to see the remaining four episodes on Hulu but it only ended with me wanting more.

John Doe. I'm sure there are others I've forgotten.

Party Down... I mean it got 2 seasons, but each only had 10 eps, so it felt like one regular american TV season.

Firefly being the obvious one for me and True Calling(though I doubt many people remember it). Oh and Point Pleasant, it did admittedly have a very slow start but just when it started actually getting somewhere it got pulled(I don't think it lasted a season now that I think about it)

Dark Skies - that makes me feel old. More recently: The Event. And of course Firefly. They always kill my sci-fi :(

I kind of want to say Firefly, but given my track record of falling out with Whedon's shows I think it had just the right amount of time.

The Unusuals
I'll never get to know if anyone got a happy ending, or an end. Especially aneurysm guy and Walt's dad. Gdi, even the fandom has packed up and moved on.

Dead Last. It may or may not have aged well, but when it premiered, it had me rolling with laughter.

Wolf Lake. Really great werewolf show, I should probably get it on DVD already.

The US version of Prime Suspect. The first episode was clunky but it got so much better and then it got axed and replaced with Awake. Which I also liked, and which was also canceled. Fuck you, NBC.
