Re: One Season (Or less!) Wonders

I remember a sitcom that lasted about three episodes called The Powers That Be, about a politician and his supremely screwed-up family. I particularly liked his desperately suicidal ... son-in-law, I believe it was, who was played by David Hyde Pierce. When Frasier came around I was all "Whoa, it's THAT GUY! :D"

Much more recently, I was all "DUUUUDE! They are hitting ALL MY TROPE AND PLOT KINKS, OMG, I have never seen this combination of favorite character torture devices happen in western media!" at the season finale of Terra Nova. And then shortly thereafter found out it wasn't getting renewed. :(
