Eh, I responded [and was trying to be polite, but idk if that came across?] just to say that I'd read a series that's done something very similar that's done really well, and manages to bypass most of the creepy stuff a lot of A/B/O fanfic writers seem to hit [or even feel the need to make a Big Thing in their fics.] However, it was both a professional work and well...not exactly the same thing. That said, A/B/O isn't my thing so, eh.

As for why people get defensive...I'm guessing it's because A/B/O gets a lot of shit. Like, to the point I've never actually heard anything *good* said about it, at least as far as fanfiction goes and that does tend to wear on people's nerves after awhile. So I can see how people might take offense to the whole "OMG, NEVER AGAIN IT WAS SO HORRIBLE I NEED A DRINK" type vibe that came off parts of her comment.
