It's not ok, just not as bad. I am getting sick of making this point to people who don't want to listen.

it's not as bad in the same sense that, like, being murdered instantly and painlessly is not as bad as being tortured to death.

honestly, i can't think of any point where the relative badness of the two is at all relevant, and it's pretty much always going to be the case that talking about how one "isn't that bad" is going to come across like you're justifying it or apologizing for it.

i seriously can't think of a situation where any reaction is appropriate to rape committed against a man or a woman that isn't "that's fucking terrible"? like, seriously, why does it matter that rape against men isn't really that bad? should we not be sympathetic about it, despite the fact that it's still a horrible thing? what's the importance of this comparison that you're making, if it's not a defense of male rape?
