I'm sorry. That sucks.

I don't know what the test entailed, but it could be that it's just... not very good at measuring actual ability. A lot of tests aren't good at accurately measuring your ability to actually perform.

Hang in there. I'm sure you'll find something someday. Good luck!

Well, they did have me do actual tasks I'd need to do on the job *sigh*.

What really sucked was that it was on a MAC (and I'm a PC user), so it took me considerable time to even figure out how the damn thing worked.

Oh, well there you go - take the "sub-par" results with a grain of salt then. I'd have the same problem. I will run circles around you with a PC, but with a Mac, nothing is in the right place and none of it works properly. Basically, you were trying to do a test in a different language. :)

SA. Er... by "none of it works properly" I meant to say, "I can't make it work properly." (Don't want the Apple fanbots jumping all over me.) But if it's not the platform you're used to, it's no wonder your scores were off.

This exactly.

Plus, people tend to learn things as they need to learn them. Just because you couldn't do it right away on a test doesn't mean you couldn't learn it. All jobs have a learning curve, even if it's something like cutting onions. Whoever was so concerned with your test results is unfair not to realize that. So try not to beat yourself up too bad.
