I hate Tumblr!

My fandom basically moved over there. And yes, we have nice gifs and the news and gossip fly, but it´s just impossible to talk to anyone over there and discuss things! D:

At least in forums and LJ everybody had a chance to be heard, everybody could comment and their thoughts would be equally read. In Tumblr only BNF are heard, if you are a nobody, it´s like screaming to a void!

Hate, you Tumblr! Hope Yahoo kills you!

Yeah... discussion is my favorite fandom activity, so Tumblr also does nothing for me. Well, pretty pictures. But otherwise nothing. It's even less discussion-friendly than Twitter.

And the archive system is horrible, everything has to be done manually!

apparently, depending on the theme, you can get "previous/next post" navigation, but that should be the default

and even the relatively new "by month" addition to the archive leaves a lot to be desired

and how come we can't browse by categories when looking through someone's tumblr

and it's all up to the owner to tag everything properly if you want to find your way around

and also everything goes by too fast

and etc. etc.

I'm addicted to Tumblr and I also hate it.

I've been there for months now and I've yet to have an actual conversation. Heck, it's the only site when merely replying to posts is sometimes seen as an annoying.

I deleted my Tumblr just a few days ago. I spent too much time there scrolling around. For what? For pictures and stuff I don't need to see.

So because you're not having fun and are unable to adapt to a new method of conversations, you want the website to die so the few hundred thousand people on there don't have fun either, losing thousands of connections and resources.

I'll let you in on a secret. Being a BNF isn't necessary to be heard on tumblr and being a nobody on LJ does not guarantee you will be equally noticed. Tumblr is as fun as YOU make it and chances are your demanding attitude is why people are not talking to you.

Actually, they aren't wrong. Fanmail doesn't work well since, as often as not, people miss it and reblogging only works well if both people are already following each other since it's amazingly easy to miss a relog/reply [not to mention the tiny character counts allowed for replies]. It's next to impossible for more than two people to be actively involved in a discussion as well.

All of those things? Work just find on LJ, or similar blogging services...Because that's what they were made for. Tumblr? Not so much, it was made to basically share pictures or information without having a discussion about it.

Actually, I regularly have conversations with friends every day by using fanmail. Long messages than the ask box allows. Some can miss the message when they are on mobile, but it can still be used.
