When someone makes me incredibly angry, irl or on the internet or whatever, and someone else come along and goes 'well that person is autistic/some other disorder or disability, you know' it doesn't make me feel bad or less angry. Also, should I have known? You can't always 'tell' if someone has this or that disorder, nor would I want to just.. assume it.

And it's not just someone who stepped on my foot and didn't apologize, it's more like they've berated and insulted me for months when I've done nothing but ignore and block them...

Yeeeeeah. I had a guy threaten to punch me over RPing a character as pansexual, and the mod told me to forgive him because "he has Asperger's." Um...no. A disorder doesn't give him a free pass to be an unrepentant homophobic asshole. He can still be told that his behavior is unacceptable and that he needs to apologize - and in fact should be told that because it's not something he can pick up on his own without somebody else teaching him. I would've accepted that course of action, but since he wasn't being held accountable for his behavior (and I was being chided for defending myself), I basically told the mod to suck it and dropped the whole group altogether.

Disorders shouldn't give people free passes to do as they please. I do my level best to understand and work with people's various limitations, but that all stops if the person in question uses their diagnosis as a shield at every opportunity just so they don't have to put any effort into learning how to function a little better in society. Self-entitled little shits are self-entitled little shits regardless of whatever excuse they're using to "justify" it. Uhg.

Yeah, no. Autism can be an excuse (or at least an explanation) for failing to pick up on social cues and such sometimes, but it's sure as fuck not free license to act like an asshole. And I think people who act like it is (including autistic people who try to use it as an excuse, when, no, they're just plain old dickwads who happen to be autistic) are doing the autistic community a huge disservice.
