i can't read the darker half of this secret, but is this by any chance your first MMORPG? everquest was a lot like that for me, and i only learned how to play through cruel and lengthy osmosis

otherwise, maybe try going over to wow_noobs on livejournal if you feel like you want to try asking for help publicly again. the community doesn't get a lot of traffic, but there's generally a few nice people hanging around to answer questions and explain stuff

it took me forever to realize the other part of this secret was a screenshot of a forum post, makes more sense now lol

I played Guild Wars for a while back in the day and stuff like Mabinogi and Maple Story (lol) but I guess this is the first MMORPG I've played like this? (yeah sorry it was the forum post that broke the camel's back when I realized that I just... am crap at it.)

Thank you for the suggestion, though, I will try that out! (I tried wow_ladies once but that ended with snark and tears)

Don't feel too bad! I started with Everquest and went through a phase of Ragnarok Online, Mabinogi, and some other MMO's before I hit WoW for the first time, too. It's definitely a cumulative skillset, but WoW really is a far cry from the MMO's that aren't just clones of it.

Good luck! TBH there is not much that goes on in wow_ladies that doesn't end in snark and tears, so hopefully this venture will end better for you. The worst thing I've seen come out of wow_noobs though is a lack of replies, so hopefully it will be worth the gamble.
