I'm sort of in the middle. I'll buy it eventually (maybe not as soon as its released) and I'll enjoy it because SIMS, but right now I'm still enjoying 3. And I have a shitload of fandom Sims in 3 and I know I'll want to remake them for 4 and that is too much effort. (So while I'm looking forward to finding out more about it, I'm in no rush to actually play it.)

So agreed about the always online thing. It just isn't necessary and it would piss off the fanbase and hurt the games sales.

As for the packs and virtual store, I do think EA have gone a bit crazy with that in recent years, but just remember you can always download free fanmade content online.
