I like tumblr for the pretty. Also, its an incredibly fast format. That does have its disadvantages but it also means that you can keep up with fandom news and opinion easily.

Oh yeah, fandom news and new photos/videos break really fast on tumblr. I really like that too. Double bonus if you're the one to first post something new.

Yea, that's never me. (Which I'm okay with! I reblog stuff, that ain't changing.)

But tumblr is about the first place I think to go for fandom news and I've rarely been disappointed. Twitter is probably second, but I check tumblr more often so it's more convenient for me. (Plus, if you follow the right people you won't miss much.)
