Can we have a post about Tumblr where it's not all people whining about how they hate it? Tell me what you love about it, what amazing blogs you follow, what tags you track, or what kinds of posts you always reblog!

I like tumblr just because I like fandom things. :)

Some people I follow I would recommend: brodinsons (Marvel), barrelsofdwarves (LOTR/Hobbit), dirtyovercoats (Supernatural), mostly10 (Supernatural), reapersun (for the Sherlock porny stuff) and kirkspocks (Star Trek).

I track some tags but I NEVER check them.

I reblog fandom stuff. It changes depending on my interests. Right now Star Trek, Marvel, Supernatural, and Tolkien. Also various movies and TV Shows. Random stuff too. I don't reblog any NSFW stuff (because I got some family/friends), that stuff goes in my Likes (so much porn and porny fanart in my likes). :P

I like how devoted fans there are there of older stuff(and actually old stuff, from the 80s or older). I'm watching a couple of shows that are 8-10 years old (standalone entries in longer franchises) and seeing other people who are excited about them, posting art/gifs/character discussion etc, makes me happy since it used to feel like I was late to the party while everyone else was in the fandoms for new/ongoing stuff.

Nightblogging posts, especially those 'roundups' that are a bunch of funny shit people have said all screencapped and put into one post. They crack me up every time.

Most of the blogs I follow are for fandom reasons, but. Funny text posts and nightblogging roundups are just the best.

I like it for following artists, they tend to post more on tumblr than on deviantArt - not just finished pieces, but sketches and progression things, which are interesting to me.

Also, gifs. So many gifs!

I love tumblr because only they can take a seriously creepy, stomach turning, horror show like Hannibal and make it hilarious through parodies. (And I love Hannibal.)

I like it because it makes following Jpop stuff a lot easier. I don't have time to check every idol's blog in case my favorite shows up in one of the pics, so I track the tags for a lot of my favorite girls and it saves me the trouble. :)

I found what might be the only fic for my OTP in a fandom that generally doesn't ship.

I also found the world's only working illegal copy of an obscure game I played as a kid.

So thanks, tumblr. I despise your navigation system, but you do have your moments.

I love tumblr because I can combine so many of my interests into one site. It lets me control my experience and discover smart and funny things by following smart and funny people.
text based discussion has never really interested me (I wish I was better at it, but on the other hand it seems like a pointless and negative time-suck most of the time) and I'm not looking for community, so tumblr is kind of perfect for me.
I totally understand why it doesn't work for some people, but the outrageous hate for it makes me sad :(
(also I love Xkit, I probably would not love tumblr without the Xkit extension)

I like tumblr for the pretty. Also, its an incredibly fast format. That does have its disadvantages but it also means that you can keep up with fandom news and opinion easily.

Differing viewpoints are a plus.

I think my favourite thing is when you're scrolling through your dash and you come across something you love that you haven't seen in ages, and it just re-ignites your love for it at the most unexpected moment.

My favourite blog right now would be http://textsfromcourfeyrac.tumblr.com/ because it's just hilarious. The Les Mis fandom in general is pretty great, actually.

I like all the gifs, holy crap, so many gifs, especially of fandoms that don't have all that much material going on produced by fans.

Also, all that Gunnerkrigg Court fanart!

It really works well as a hub for small-ish fandoms

who knows maybe under yahoo the rest of its problems will be fixed? (like, navigation, archival, etc.; stuff like plagiarism, pissing contests, pro-terrible-terrible-things blogs, unmarked porn and so on will take more effort to be fixed)

I follow a few Discworld tags and I love the discussion that goes on in them. I like that Tumblr's always eager for a good literary analysis. And I love blogs that give you information about science-y stuff in bite-size chunks. I learn something new every day.

It's so casual and fun! I don't have the pressure for all my posts to be well thought out paragraphs of deep insight and I can reblog/blog as much as I like!

I really like:
- the scrolling dashboard option. I can browse through pictures, articles, meta, random information while at work (callcentre).
- I like the science blogs like the brainscoop, n-a-s-a and scienceillustrated
- ask blogs are also kinda nifty! I think they're cute. (askanamnesiac was awesome)
- I can get damn fast quick replies to little questions in fandoms
- no-one gives a shit if I am asking something that may be naive or stupid, they still answer!
- I love posting photos of my pets and viewing others pets :D
- The not-serious artwork that's on tumblr. Sometimes I just want to view WIPs and silly artworks
- The corocoro tag updates with leaks before serebii does - and the tracked tag will add the number of new posts so I'm not clicking on it when there's nothing new
- Layout is pretty simple so I appreciate that
- gifs and pictures and everything

It's just a load of casual fun without the expectations for me to be fully involved (busy with life :C ), which is how I like it.

I like being able to look at compilations of art and gifs. The humour on Tumblr is also pretty good. There are some smart posts as well about different types of awareness that float around.

For the most part, Tumblr isn't srs bsns (unless I'm hanging out in the right parts). And that's nice after all the fandom wars I've seen.

So while we're on about tumblr, I was looking through the sugar baby, sugar daddy, and sugarbowl tags (referring to a woman who is given money and expensive gifts in exchange for being an escort, just going to dinner, and/or sex. not the candy). It's a very interesting read. In a way this concept/practice doesn't seem that bad all the time, but simultaneously it makes me really uncomfortable. How does everyone else feel about this subject?

It's about the only place the Last Exile fandom isn't dead, and that is the reason I'm on there. It's also a great place to rant when I get writers block, or just blab about the fic I'm working on. I do like checking other tags, but I'm mostly on there for Last Exile.

I love tumblr because I haven't felt like I was in a fandom in a really long time, and now I do :) Of course I miss LJ-style fandoms because those were great, but after LJ basically died and before I stopped whining and joined tumblr I was in such a fandom void.

There are actual fans there of a band no one has heard of in the U.S. where I live. And they are nice people too. It was great being able to find that fandom.

I also like the funny text posts/nightblogging posts. Not every single one of course, but some of them crack me up. (And by the time I see one it's probably been reblogged by so many people that it's likely to be quality.)

I reblog all kinds of things! Mostly cats, corgis, Homestuck, Sailor Moon, flowers/plants, and positive news from around the world. :D Sometimes there are other things, and sometimes I write silly things about how my own day is going.

The tags I track: fedorafreak, shibe, yotsuba, ke$hastuck, the long sad tale of fedorafreak (on the off chance that someone is making me fanart for my silly story :P), and Hope Corgi. I check up on them pretty often!

- the oh-so-beautiful pictures;
- the genuinely funny gifs;
- cats;

- the proper way to treat Eurovision: http://www.tumblr.com/tagged/eurovision This year's Eurovision was much more fun with Tumblr exploding around the sparkly Romanian dubstep-opera vampire.
- http://textfromdog.tumblr.com/ Seriously.
- I frequently visit about three blogs. In one of them, there are posts about M.A.S.H., pitbulls, The Colbert Report, The Daily Show, animated movies, etc. ... And none of this interests me really. I mean all of them is amazing, but none of them belongs to my major... who I'm kidding, they're not even among my "medium-level" interests. And still.
- Superwholock gifs - I think this is the only format where this trifecta could work in. But in this format, it *rocks*.
- My country's tag: http://www.tumblr.com/tagged/hungary Checking what people post about my country is one of the (veryveryveryvery) few acceptable (at least for me) ways to be proud of my country without all the negative connotations „nationalism” has.
