That is interesting. I'm American, and Eastern Europeans are definitely white where I am (I have some Russian and Ukrainian ancestry and it has never even occurred to me that anyone would ever think I was not completely white). But as far as I know, Eastern European immigrants are not commonly discriminated against in the US today.

Really? Here everyone is always on the OMG they are taking our jobs thing.

I think the taking our jobs blame always goes to whatever groups the biggest immigrant populations belong to. In the US that would be Mexico and South America, and southeast Asia in some regions, so Eastern Europe is mostly passed over in, uh, favor of those when Americans want to rant about stolen jobs.
