The Avengers. I had been waiting years to see it before it came out and for some reason I just can't be bothered to watch it even though I've heard it's good

That is how I was with X-Men First Class. Took forever to watch it even though I was looking forward to it. Ended up loving it once I got around to it.

Yeah, I've not seen Avengers either. I figured I needed to see all the other movies first, and I was avoiding Thor because of Loki. Yeah, I know he's the big bad in Avengers, but...

I actually think I'm gonna go rent it next week, though...

You don't need to see Thor before the Avengers. All you need to know is that Thor went to Earth and Thor and Loki fought. End context.
