Personally, I have lost more respect for Gaiman as his scientology connections come to light than for whom he choose to marry.

OTOH, I can't stand Amanda Palmer as she's the most annoying pseudo celebrity I've ever had the misfortune to know about (And it doesn't help that one of my best friends is his stan so EVERYTHING she does, including not paying her musicians, her pseudo suicide, that stupid poem, and making her friend's terminal cancer all about her, is wonderful, magnificent, deep and artistic), so it's a good thing that they're together, as they're easier to avoid that way.

Does he have actual current connections? I know his father was involved in scientology, but he describes his own religious upbringing as "short and mostly Jewish." If it just means he doesn't have the standard vitriol that most of us have for that...group of people (I really hesitate to say "religion"), then, well, having a close family member as a part of it can do that to you.

Last I knew, he was still listed as a monetary contribution, and his ex-wife has a very high position in the church. And the money thing came to light like, three months ago? That he still was listed as a donor and he was still donating money.

Yikes. Now THAT's upsetting and something I almost rather I didn't know.

Okay, I read one of Gaimen's boos (can't even remember which one) and was not impressed with Gaimen's writing. I read Good Omens and even with Pratchett to help him out, I was not impressed.

And he's married to a turd of a human being, which called his personal judgement somewhat into question.

This is the nail in the coffin, though. *strikes Neil Gaiman off list of people worthy of any respect whatsoever*
