I've heard about it but I didn't know what to think of it just by reading the plot. Anyway I'm going to give it a try then.

Yeah, it probably sounds a bit strange just reading the plot -- but I promise you that it's a great anime. The characters have serious depth and development, the relationships are easy to fall for, the plot is interesting, the animation/voice acting/music are all top-notch, etc. I really hope you'll like it!

Simoun is awesome. The world is weird, in a most delightful way. (I was horrified when we heard about how the Argentum Archipelago gets by without access to the spring, then had to stop and 'wait...' at that reaction.)
